I also have to give props to our server (Mica or Mican). The sweetness of the figs and glaze were balanced perfectly with the saltiness of the prosciutto. We had several main entrees but the show stopper was the Fig Tree pizza! This was one of the best pizza combinations I have ever had- figs, arugula, prosciutto, with a balsamic glaze. They were in a light vegetable broth with white beans and chilis, it was so, so good- I was shocked how much we liked it. 2,747 likes 26 talking about this 2,374 were here. The meatballs were also very good and served in a way I've never had before. We had the most amazing dinner at the Hillcrest location recently! The food was fantastic and our server was awesome! Our apps were the Crispy Eggplant and Homemade Meatballs- both were fantastic! The eggplant was fried, but not greasy, served with goat cheese & arugula with a lovely balsamic glaze. In Hillcrest, Fig Tree Café features an urban modern open kitchen concept, enabling patrons to observe the culinary action. Since opening the first location in Pacific Beach, Fig Tree Café planted a second restaurant in the middle of San Diego's Hillcrest neighborhood at 416 University Avenue.
